apps on android tablets

so, I just stepped into the world of android yesterday, with a new nexus 7 with latest OS.
I have to say I love the device, however, my only problem is, I don't know of any android apps really, or apps that work well on said systems.
if anyone has any good app recommendations to try, I would appreciate it.l
